The Microsoft 365 Co-pilot File Share connector allows your organization’s users to search content stored on on-premises Windows file shares. Once the connector is set up and the data is indexed from the specified file paths, users can find this content directly through Microsoft Search and Microsoft 365 Co-pilot.
To ensure proper access control, make sure that Active Directory identities are synced with Microsoft Entra. Microsoft Graph connectors respect these identities, so regular synchronization between AD and Entra is required to maintain accurate permissions during indexing.
